Hurricane Julia Joins Igor

Hurricane Julia is picking up steam to join Hurricane Igor, which has been steadily making its way west in the Atlantic Ocean.

Although neither storm is expected to hit the United States, residents are still worried as hurricane season carries on. The next named storm, Karl, could affect the Yucatan Peninsula and Belize.

Julia was upgraded to a Category 1 storm today, although she is expected to gain strength as she moves west. Meanwhile Igor remains a powerful Category 4 with winds up to 135 mph.

Igor is on a path directly toward Bermuda, with swells expected to reach the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
